A birthday-month treat for people who signed up
Customers who give you their birth month get a small treat offer in that month.
Steps
- Ask adults only, and ask for the month, not the full date of birth.
- Use an email service that keeps a record of who signed up and when.
- Send one short note in the first week of their month with a clear treat and an end date.
- Make leaving the list easy, and take people off it straight away when they ask.
What to count
Birthday treats used each month.
Keep it clean
Marketing email must follow the CAN-SPAM Act. Its main rules: accurate From, Reply-To and routing details; a subject line that does not mislead; a message that says it is an ad (unless the person agreed beforehand to get it); your physical postal address; and a working way to opt out that you honor within 10 business days. The FTC guide lists every requirement.
