About Doorcount

A small tool for the people behind the counter

Doorcount is an idea hub and a promotion planner for small local businesses, with a door count to see how each idea did.

What it is, and what it is not

Doorcount is an independent tool. It is not a chamber of commerce, a business association, a directory or a membership organization, and it is not affiliated with any chamber of commerce, business association, city or government body. It has no members, collects no dues, gives no endorsements and has no official standing.

It lives at srchambercommerce.com. The letters "SR" in that address do not stand for any town, region or organization, and Doorcount does not speak for any chamber, including any that shortens its name to SR or SRCC.

Who makes it

Doorcount is made and run by WeldonPC. It needs no staff to work: the ideas are written ahead, the calendar dates are worked out by code, and your board is yours alone.

Where the ideas come from

Every idea was written for Doorcount by WeldonPC's AI build assistant (Claude, made by Anthropic). They are general suggestions for owners to adapt, not legal, tax or professional advice, and Doorcount makes no promise about results. Where an idea touches a rule (reviews, marketing email, texts, gift cards), the idea names the rule and links the official source. Nothing on the site is written by AI while you use it.

The dates on the calendar

Federal holidays, Mother's Day, Father's Day and the clock changes are computed by code from the rules in U.S. law, as published by the U.S. Government Publishing Office:

Federal holidays are listed on their actual dates. The other days on the calendar (Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving) are fixed by custom, not by law; they are there because many shops plan around them.

Boards on Hawaii time, or on Arizona time, skip the clock changes, because Hawaii and most of Arizona do not change their clocks. The Navajo Nation in Arizona does change its clocks: a business there should choose Mountain time.

The count

Doorcount uses no sensors, cameras or tracking: somebody at the business taps +1, or types in a day's total. The comparison uses only days that were counted, and it says so when there are not enough of them.
